Is it spring yet? (Joli)

Cold air brushed over his thick dark brown and black coat which he was so so thankful for, Not even the thickest winter coat could compare to a shepherds thick glossy double coat, keeping the strong muscles underneath nice and warm. And thus he could move through the forest without a single shiver. His snoot sniffing up the thin cold winter air with every sniff, the air smelled of dead leaves, mice, rabbits nothing out of the ordinary really but yet there was a smell that got him dumbfounded for a little..human? off the paths? He tilted his head a little, strange..strange indeed. It would take a few more steps to recognise the irony but yet flowery smell however. Yeh, every time he smelled the girl it would get him worried, he knew that irony smell, though it was clearly not fresh anymore..thank god. With a few more steps he trotted over, the smell strengthening with every step he got closer, quickly mixing in with the bunny smell he smelled earlier, she must be talking to her friends then he figured. Softly the puppy pushed aside some leaves to get a good view on the pretty but troubled girl but didn't manage to be soft enough to not scare away the little rabbit, who quickly fled for his life...shit

She screamed, making the pup jump back a little, ouch, sensitive Joli. Carefully he peeked back again and managed to catch a glimpse of a smile, Relieved he sighed, he didn't scare her too much. 'Hello, Eric.' he heard her say in a friendly and calm way. He wagged his tail a little before skillfully shifting back to human, the bright smile on his face quickly turning into a cringe as the cold air pushed up against his face, sending a shiver down his spine. " d d damn it's cold" he managed to say between clenched jaws. " Anyway heyyy!" he said once he had adjusted to the cold air surrounding them "Meeting friends?". He looked around him, scanning the area for more animals but could only smell some distant deer and a few sleeping squirrels..god bless hybronation he thought. Squirrels were the worst, must sound a bit cliche, a dog hating squirrels but he was just so so sure they laughed at him..the damn pricks...

Joli nodded. 'Yeahh...' Eric smiled, god how cool it would be to be able to talk to animals, you would know everything and everyone in the forest! so many more friends, so many more unheard stories, it would be awesome but then again her having it was nice too. It enabled him to shift and still talk to the girl and sometimes it's nice to be small and fluffy, nice and warm.  'What are you doing here? Enjoying the cold?' she joked, getting him out of his thoughts immediately. The Scott chuckled " God no, even though back home home it was just as cold all year round" he told her with a smile on his face " But no, I just needed my daily exercise  and entertainment, you see I just get that urge burning in me when I don't move and explore, meet people and just be active" the young lad explained while rolling his feet a little, holding his cold hands deep down in his pockets "But you being hee is a nice bonus aswell" he added with a nod, smiling at the french girl

After just a short and simple walk both had made it to the slippery path, you could literally spot the ice forming over the small puddles that had formed in the dents and footsteps. 'Watch out though, some parts are slippy. Almost fell on my way here,' Joli thus warned him. The boy nodded " Yehhh just take a look at all that damn eyes" he chuckled as he used his foot to smash open one of the puddles, oof that's satisfying he thought to himself as he looked at the leaves floating on the cold water underneath. " Well at least the cold keeps the squirrels away..those damn squirrels" the shifter swore with narrowed eyes 2 Always laughing at me for no reason, or when I am in pain, god you don't wanna know how evil they can be" he spoke while shaking his head out of pure hatred for the furry sons of bitches...

'They really aren't evil Eric and I have never heard them laugh, not at you anyway,' she said making eric huff a little. 'Trust me. Why would they even laugh at you? They don't know you...'. The scott shrugged while breaking some more ice as they made their way through the forest. " Duke said they do though, and i trust him fully" he declared. Their childhood dog duke was probably his best friend back in the day when the dog was still young and playful. Not that he liked him less now he was old ad retired it just isn't like it used to be, back in the day where they would run around for hours. He smiled a little at the thought alone, the fresh grass smell on the endless green fields of the Scottish highlands, the view on the mountains in the close distance and the widespread raw nature..god how he missed it. He let out a little sigh, god how he missed his mom....Damien and e v e n Jocelyn...But the thought of his brother moving down there soon managed to put at least a small smile on his face...2 more months he thought...2 more months and he would be here and he would have a part of his family back. He decided to shift his attention back to the firl however..no need to get gloomy now " Soo how are you doing?" he asked her with newfound positivity...

'I am doing okay,' she answered. 'Though I am kinda done with the cold. I need my sun,' she chuckled and sighed. The boy looked at her with a soft smile "hm yehhhh it really really is cold" he declared in agreement with the french girl. Sure in Scottland the weather sucked all the time but that did not mean he was particularly used to the freezing cold. " Can't wait till spring comes around" he told her while playing with a stone he had hidden in his deep pockets "Going outside without partially freezing would be a nice change of the daily routine hm"

'God, for sure yeah,' she reacted with a soft chuckle. 'You don't wanna know what I'm wearing under this already thick coat.' or did he? he blinked and quickly shook the thought out of his head. She was pretty yeh, but a friend, yes a friend. " Though I love to have a walk and walking does also make you warmer. But damn, it stays cold if you're not fully packed up warm.' she continued. He chuckled while nodding his head. " Yehhh it sure is cold" he then replied while looking at the trees surrounding them and listening to the many sounds of the forest, even hearing the distant waves breaking on the shores behind it. " So any cool news from your friends?" the scott asked while returning his gaze onto her
