A breathtaking pact

She looked down at the rippling water beneath her, taking a deep breath before jumping into it, a feeling of relieve as soon as her skin hit the cold(ish). She loved swimming, especially when nobody else was around, gave her that feeling of rest she only had when she slept or stared at fishes. Underwater there was nobody to read, no fly passing by or anything that could destract her,, now th obly thing that was on her mind was swimming, nothing else to think about, other than that it made her feel as if she was home, her coming from santa monica, she had always been near a beach, ehich she kinda missed here, butthe swimming pool sorta made up for it. She missed los Angeles, she missed the underground, the streets filled with tourists, seeing new faces every day, meeting new people every day, somthing she only missed while swimming, when there were no other distractions around her, ehen shehad little other to focus on. After a few laps she got out of the water, there was almost nobody else at ghis school who seriously swam, others just saw it as a dun activity, while for her it was a sport. She looked around her and sat down on a bench beside the pool wrapping herself in the towel she had brought and looked at the now silent, clear water, she smiled softly when suddenly a person came in, someone she hadn't expected to be here, the last person she expected here, kate west. "Ah hi kate, I never knew you liked swimming!" She said happily as she looked at the girl

Kate was wandering around the school again, stopping by every door to look what kind of room it was and inspecting every little corner of the school. If she needed to stay here, certainly, almost the entire year, she could at least inspect the school she was living in.
Another door came in sight and without thinking about it, she pushed it open. She froze, cigarette by her mouth, when she saw what kind of room this was. It was the fucking swimmingpool.
A fucking swimmingpool?!
'Ah hi Kate, I never knew you liked swimming!' said a very happy girl named Jessica Anderson. Kate stared at her with disgust, not for Jess but for the water, because, ew. The red-headed girl took a long drag of her cigarette and walked into the room, closing the door behind her. She leaned against it and blew out the smoke.
'Jess... Believe me if I say that I absolutely, one hundred percent, with honest and utter horror... Hate swimming. And water. And... All that kind of stuff,' kate replied with a hand gesture towards the pool. Her face showed the most disgusted look of all time, with a spark of fear. Because, honestly, Kate is also fucking afraid of water. But she won't let them show that. Altought Jess might see it. Jess sees everything...

'Jess... Believe me if I say that I absolutely, one hundred percent, with honest and utter horror... Hate swimming. And water. And... All that kind of stuff,' kate replied with a hand gesture towards the pool. Jess looked at the girl, clearly seeing her disgust and fear...she absolutely didn't like water...interesting. ",aw oh well, your choice" she said,,mlaying her bright glance st the girl's cigarette "smoking is bad for you"

'Aw oh well, your choice,' Jess said.
Kate nodded furiously. She moved away from the door, for if someone would come in, but she stayed against the wall. No way she would ever go any nearer towards the water. Why was she even still here?
'Smoking is bad for you,' the other girl said then.
Kate was happy she changed the subject. A smirk formed on her face when she looked at Jess.
'Is that so?' she said while bringing the cigarette towards her mouth again. 'What a shame...' And she took another drag. She looked at the other girl with a rebellious and playfull tint in her eyes. She blew out the smoke again and sighed.
'So... How are you?' Kate asked, not sure what to do or say now.
