Hot Canadian days ( dylo)

He had been working on this for the whole week now. He was pretty sure his wife Jodie was getting annoyed by now because he showed it the whole time. But he had to make sure it was good! What he was working on was a PowerPoint, one for the freshmen of the school year. He always wanted to introduce himself, show and tell something person about himself. He believed that in that way the students would know him better and then their bond with eachother will also be better. It is a very important thing for Dylan, because he wants to be there for his students. He wants them to trust him, to be their safe haven.
Speaking of someone who trusted him - at least he thought she trusted him enough -, someone knocked on the door. It was no one less than Jessica Anderson. 'Come in,' he called and he smiled as the girl walked in. 'Hello Jess, what can I do for you?' he asked as he turned to her.

The girl entered the classroom and dropped her bag on the floor. Dylans eyes followed her bag and was reminded of Abel once again. He sure had fun today with his pranks. As if it got worse when Lydia was born. Ah well, kid will be allright, he kept telling himself. Only he was glad another day with him he had survived. Nick was busy, so any help there wasn't expected anyway.
'Well, maths dropped today, because well you know.. Nick isn't at school today,' Jess chuckled and Dylan smiled as he nodded. He sure wasn't. The guy had been spamming him with pictures of his daughter all day, but Dylan didn't mind. 'So I was wondering if you needed any help or something, heard Abel was busy again?' she continued.
Dylan chuckled a little and nodded. 'Yeah, it seems as if he gets busier now Lydia's been born. But that's allright. He made his classmates laugh and I know I can't do much about it anyway,' he shrugged. 'But, now you're here, there is something you coul help me with,' he stated and he turned his laptop towards her. 'What do you think of this lay-out? Is it better this way... Or this way?' he asked as he showed two different styles.

He hadn't thought about it when he showed her the different styles. To him the styles were what mattered at that point, but Jessica had different thoughts apparently. 'Wow, who's that?' she asked. Dylan looked at her in slight confusion before he looked at the screen. Ah, there it was. That explained it. The slide he showed was with pictures of his three year younger brother, William.
'Oh, that's my little brother, William,' he smiled, not thinking about the fact she found him attractive at all. At this point he was used to it though, the guy was a professional icehockier, of course people thought he was attractive. But that one of his students, especially Jessica, thought that way, that would've never occured to him.

She blinked, l i t t l e the guy had to be atleast twice the size of the Canadian teacher, making her chuckle a little " wow he sure ain't that little" a tiny little grinn appeared on her face before her gaze returned to the foto. " is he some kind of athlete or so?" she asked, her eyes fixed on the guy's little brother. Yeh, he was fine, really fine the fact that she was looking at her teacher's brother didn't even cross her mind anymore, or the fact he was probably way older than her, not that that mattered to her right now, nah now she was just enjoying the sight before her, totally normal for girls..right?

'Wow he sure ain't that little.' Dylan looked at her, not sure what she meant, and saw the grinn on her face. It was a tiny one, but it was there. 'Is he some kind of athlete or so?' she asked then, still looked at the picture of his, yes, little brother.
Dylan turned back to the picture. 'Uh.. Well, yeah, he's a professional icehockier,' he said. 'And well maybe he is a bit musclier and broader than me, he is still three years younger, so...' It had to be said. Because he was, is the oldest! Mostly even Will forgets that, pfft.

" oh wow ice-hockey" she stated while turning back to the teacher to face him " isn't that like..really dangerous? i once saw a video of like this dude who got his throat cut open and stuff and there was blood all over the ice and stuff and it made it kinda look like a strawberry slushie, which is the best flavour by the way, well it is at the local restaurant in my home town, the got like a million flavours and colours, it's amazing!" a smile appeared on her face " the shushes here arent nearly as good as there but then again fresher fruit so duhu you know" she chuckled again, slowly looking back at the pictures on the teacher's monitor, an oh? immeadiatly appearing in her eyes again..

Jess just blinked at him and he wanted to say something, but she was faster. Maybe he should've been faster to stop her. Probably... 'Oh wow ice-hockey,' she stated and he nodded. He also promised me to be careful so if he isn't he broke a promise and he doesn't wanna go breaking a promise so... That's a nice way to keep him safe. I guess..' The teacher sighed. 'He just had minor accidents up untill now, so he better keep that promise,' he chuckled, but you could sense he was serious. He didn't want his brother to get hurt, obviously.

'Yeahh, it's a pretty dangerous sport. But he's careful. He also promised me to be careful so if he isn't he broke a promise and he doesn't wanna go breaking a promise so... That's a nice way to keep him safe. I guess..' The teacher sighed. 'He just had minor accidents up untill now, so he better keep that promise,' he chuckled. Jess nodded a little " yehh i hope so, but by the looks of it he seems tough enough to knock everyone over on the ice" she chuckled, feeling her look sliding back to the pictures again " I am worried about my brother a lot too" she said while keeping her eyes on the monitor " he is in the army so we barely get to see eachother...but he promised he do be fine so im keeping him to that too"

Jess nodded by his words. 'Yehh I hope so, but by the looks of it he seems tough enough to knock everyone over on the ice,' she chuckled. Dylan chuckled with her and nodded. 'Yeah, he sure is tough. He knocked a couple of 'em over, yeah, but it's not like he does that all the time. He doesn't wanna play dirty yaknow.'
'I am worried about my brother a lot too,' the girl then said. Dylan looked at her, but she kept her eyes glued on his screen. 'he is in the army so we barely get to see eachother... But he promised he do be fine to im keeping him to that too.'
Dylan smiled. 'Yeah.. I would be more worried if Will would be in the army.. So I'm glad he isn't. I can imagine how worried you must get,' he said, now worried for her brother too. Great going Dylan.

" he is smarter than me atleast" she chuckled " not that that is saying a lot, i mean i can be kinda stupid sometimes, like yesterday i was just outside trying to raise money for the coral reefs and stuff, and went inside someone's house and now i realize that might've been kinda stupid and my mom got like..r e a l l y angry when i called her last night so no, i would definetly not make it on the field" she chuckled as her thoughts wandered off to the day before again, he invited her inside because it rained, but little did he know..she liked the rain..it was water afterall. She shook her head a little and looked back at the guy in the pictures...geeze what was happening to her, was this what Sophie's mind was like all the time?

Dylan looked at her, kinda shocked tot hear that. But he was happy her mom got angry, because that really wasn't a wise thing to do. If his daughter would ever do that... Well, he hates to get angry but he would. Even though Jodie would be way quicker with being angry but then they're both angry and that's not good. So no, his daughter better won't because he won't like it being angry at her, he already knows that for sure.
