A really important question ( dylan)

She stared at the clock, watching how it ticked, second after second, feeling how her patience drained every time it moved one second forward. One minute, one minute left. It was so boring, sitting in the corner all on her own, why did dmitri had to get sick today?. She was on like, a deserted island, all on her own, no one to talk to, except the eraser she had called wilson, named after the brave volleyball wilson from that cast away movie she had watched the day before. She did yell at kate though but mr collins didn't really allow that so now she had turneed to her tustworthy friend mister wilson the eraser basically telling him her entire life story when finally the bell rang. Now she was finally able to ask her question she had been wanting to ask the teacher this entire hour. She  walked over to the teacher's desk and looked out of the window for a couple of seconds before asking the most thought of, the most important and long awaited question "is Asia a country sir?" she asked a smile on her face but it was clear that this was infact, not a joke...

  Dylan was working on his laptop as the class was working. Then the bell rang, startling him but luckily not changing form. It happened a couple of times though, when he started working here. But he was used to it know.
  He saw Jessica walking up to him and he closed the tabs on his laptop, rehearsing the things he would say to explain what racism was, since he expected that question from the girl. He stood up already, a smile on his face, as he waited for the infamous question - what never came...
  'Is Asia a country sir?' Jess asked with a smile on her face.
  Dylan could see she meant it though. He stopped in his tracks for a moment, shifting his mind from racism to Asia. 'Eh, no,' he answered. 'It's a continent though,' he said with a smile, still expecting the question about racism to come somewhere this day.

Jess stared at him, not a single emotion on her bright face as she just stared..processing all of this new information "but...if asia is a continent there are 5 continents but there are only 4 according to people, africa, north america, south america , china, Oceania so how is that posible sir?" she asked as she crossed her arms leaning against a table thinking she was smarter, with was never a great thing to happen, especially not when the conversation is about topography "i mean i get why people think that way but that would mean that north america and south america are just america and then tit all okay again!" she said, wauw what a world problem solver...

  Jess stared at him, not a single emotion on her bright face.
  Dylan would first get uncomfortable with it, but now he's used to it. She was just progressing the information, so they were safe.
  'But... If Asia is a continent there are 5 continents but there are only 4 according to people, Africa, North America, South America, China, Oceania so how is that possible sir?' she asked as she crossed her arms, leaning against a table.
  Dylan chuckled softly and shook his head. He wanted to explain it but Jess started talking again.
  'I mean I get why people think that way but that would mean that North America and South America are just America and then tit all okay again!' she said.
  'No, no, no,' Dylan started as he walked to the hung up map of the world, pointing the continents out and naming them. 'There are seven continents, okay? North America, South America, Africa, Europe, Asia, Oceania and Antarctica.'

'No, no, no,' Dylan started. Jess blinked but kept her mouth shut when the teacher walked over to the other ide of the classroom, jess following him quietly when suddenly a thing appeared on the wall taking away her breath for a second or 12. 'There are seven continents, okay?" the teacher began . Jess shook her head already amazed "  North America, South America, Africa, Europe, Asia, Oceania and Antarctica.' the teacher pointed at the continents while pointing at every one of them. Jess blinnked before she opened her mouth to respond " OH THIS IS A WORLD MAP AHHH now i finally understand this thing . but sirrr, where is china then? i mean, all of my shit gets made there and trump keeps talking about it" she said, frowning at the last part, still suprised by the election, if trump was able to become president basically every dumbass could become one. "Also sir" she continued "Is canada an actual thing cause i think it's the northpole or something, what makes me think, why is it that antartica gets to be a continent and the northpole not, that's like...rasism right?" shee asked crossing her arms again..oh boi

  'OH THIS IS A WORLD MAP AHHH now I finally understand this thing. But sirrr, where is China then? I mean, all my shit gets made there and Trump keeps talking about it,' Jess said.
  Dylan pointed at China on the world map. 'Here is China. China is a country, you see? But it's part of Asia,' he explained.
  'Also sir,' she continued. 'Is Canada an actual thing cause I think it's the Northpole or something, what makes me think, why is it that Antarctica gets to be a continent and the Northpole not, that's like... Racism right?' she asked, crossing her arms again.
  'Ehm, Canada is real, yeah,' Dylan chuckled. 'And I don't know why the Northpole is no continent and Antarctica is. You should aks Friedrich I guess, or look it up on Google,' he shrugged.

Jess nodded "yeh that is indeed possible, but friedrich is busy and i don't want to disturb him all the time with these kind of world problems you know" she said as she looked at the map a smile on her face as she was looking at all the countries she was going to discover soon, or as soon as possible, all she needed was a boat and and she would visit them all, all those countries, every one of them. She couldn't wait!. She turned back to the teacher "why do you only teach social studies while every other teacher has like a fuck ton of subjects to teach?" she asked curiousity in her brown eyes

  Jess nodded. 'Yeh that is indeed possible, but Friedrich is busy and I don't want to disturb him all the time with these kind of world problems you know,' she said.
  'I understand, yeah,' Dylan nodded.
  'Why do you only teach social studies while every other teacher has like a fuck ton of subjects to teach?' the girl asked.
  'Eh well, I only studied social studies,' he answered. 'I'd like to teach more subjects though, but it seems like everything is under control. I haven't been asked to do other subjects, and I won't ask, so yeah,' Dylan shrugged with a small smile.

  Jess nodded. 'Yeah... I understand...'
  Dylan smiled satisfied.
  'Hm... By the way, how much power does a president have? Like can they make laws? All on their own?' she then asked. 'Cause that would be kinda cool but also pretty scary if you think about it, damn... Does the U.K have one?'
  Dylan thought for a moment. 'Well, a president has a lot of power, yes, but they can't make laws. They can suggest laws, however,' he explained. 'And the U.K has no president. They have a government though, what works basically the same.'

  Jess nodded. 'I see...' She thought for a moment while looking at the map on the wall. 'I think that I might become a president...'
  Dylan raised his brows.
  'I mean I already solved a world problem today, I think I can pretty much handle it... Plus if Trump can become one I can aswell... Oeh then I can ban fishing for forever!' she said full of excitement. 'I have to sail around the world first though... And become a psychologist of course... But after that...'
  'Well... You have to suffice some things first before you can become president. And it's wise to study politics and also get a job in it,' Dylan responded. 'And ban fishing isn't easy. You can suggest it, but as I said earlier, a president can't make laws. There are a lot of other people who needs to agree with you,' he said. 'I don't want to get your hope up, though. Believe me, if you want to become president you should go for it. Just know that it isn't that easy as it seems...'

  Jess blinked for a bit before she spoke again. 'But... Trump was able to become one... And I don't think he even had a formal education...' she said with a frown on her face. 'Okay me had but he didn't have any experience... And now he is president, I know it's because people are desperate for an option to make everything better but still... I can do that aswell, it's pshyology... You just need the right words and everyone will do what you tell them to do,' she told him. 'And i happen to see everything... It's easy really...'
  Dylan nodded. 'Yeah, I don't know how Trump could become president... And that's true, you have a mutation that can be very helpful. In that case you have more chance. I suggest to at least learn something about politics though. It will be very helpful for you,' he said with a small smile.
